Editorial Standards

Publishing Principles

The standards behind everything we publish.

These principles govern how Savvy Insurance researches, writes and reviews the information we publish. They sit alongside our editorial guidelines, ethics policy and corrections policy.

1. Accuracy first

We aim to be factually correct and up to date. Where insurance rules, cover or costs can change, we say so, and we date our pages so you can see when they were last reviewed.

2. Independence

Our content is not for sale. Commercial partners cannot pay to alter a factual assessment or to be described as better than they are. See ownership & funding.

3. Written and reviewed by people

Our guides are written by our editorial team and fact-checked by qualified reviewers before publishing. Where relevant, pages carry a "written by" and "reviewed by" byline.

4. Clear about what we are

We are an independent comparison and information service, not a licensed FSP, and we do not give financial advice. We consistently point readers to registered advisers and to insurers' own policy wording for decisions.

5. No misleading claims

We avoid unsubstantiated superlatives and "guaranteed savings" language. Where we mention prices, we present them as indicative ranges, not quotes, and we explain what drives your premium.

6. Reader benefit over ranking

We organise information to help you make a good decision, not to maximise clicks. We disclose our commercial model openly on how we make money.
